The materials contained in these documents are meant to bring awareness to and orient the user in basic Owner Operator issues.  It is not intended to be used as a complete body of knowledge of operations or training system nor is it tailored to each possible user or company.  It was developed in conjunction with a number of VMA member companies, and with resources from the United States Small Business Administration, the United States Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health and United States Department of Commerce. 

However, it must be made clear that the use of this program is provided for the purpose of providing a baseline overview of issues in owning a trucking operation.  There are no warranties related to this program and its publication, and the Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) does not make any promises, commitments, warranties, or guarantees or any other representations regarding the legality or adequacy of the material as such.  The VMA expressly denies any liability related to this publication.  VMA EXPRESSLY DENIES THE EXISTENCE OF ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AS RELATED TO THE SALE, DISTRIBUTION OR PUBLICATION OF THIS PROGRAM.
